Recommended / Suggested Weapon Set-Ups
This baby has the power of a train and the precision of a surgeon. It easily rips through thin walls and wood even without Deep Impact. But equipped with this Perk it limits the amount of hiding places on any map to almost zero. The Juggernaut Perk, however, is only effective in Regular Mode.
This is a good set-up for beginners. You should prefer the M4 (Lvl10) over the AK-47(Lvl4) though, since the M4 has much less recoil and sway than the AK. The M203 attachment is a deadly weapon that - if used apropriately - can take out multiple enemies at once. The M203 is often referred to as "Noob Tube" and you'll be taunted for using it as a Commander. Nevertheless, you should make use of it at that state of the game. The extra Stopping Power and Steady Aim will make it easier for you to take out enemies quickly, which is the essential key to survival - especially in Hardcore Mode.
This is a versitile set-up which allows you to engage enemies from short to long range distances. The G36C is a very precise assault rifle. Nevertheless, use short burst for long range attacks. It's increased firering-rate (Double Tap) and penetrating rounds (Deep Impact) turn this rifle into a leathal weapon at medium and close range. Although, this setup allows you to operate at any distance you should focus on medium range attacks. Note: in regular mode you should replace Deep Impact by Stopping Power.
Why a SMG? Pretty simple: First, SMGs have a wider Field of View (FOV) when aiming - and you will have to keep your eyes open. Second, your agility is higher than with heavier guns. Third, due to their higher rate of fire, SMGs are more deadly in Close Quaters Combat (CQC) than any other gun. This set-up allows you to sneak behind enemy lines more easily. The UAV-Jammer prevents you from being detected via radar. The silencer surpresses noises. Use your smoke grenade to cover open areas you have to cross. When you made it behind the line keep a low profile. Crouch to reduce noises (Dead Silence is not available yet, so move slowly). Use your knife whenever possible and do not hold out too long in one spot after you have killed enemies. As soon as they know you are there, they'll come for you. Instead, take a position that provides a good sight on your previous position (why don't you plant a nice C4-package over there?). If they come for you, take 'em out again - and keep moving. This is a CQC setup. AVOID medium to long range fights, if you can. Do not compromise your position for a remote enemy. As soon as he spotted you, you are most likely done.
Sneaky bastard! Lvl 44 was all that was missing to build the prefect Commando set-up. Now equipped with Dead Silence even running produces just minimal noise. Once behind the lines, you become Snipers' nightmare. They don't hear you, they don't see you (throught their narrow sight), just watch for claymores! Feel free to either knive or headshot'em and enjoy taking top spot in the food chain!
The M40A3 is the first sniper rifle which is unlocked - and without any doubt it is the best one. Although, some useful Perks aren't available at this time, this is a good Sniper set-up for beginners. With your explosives you can secure your position. Plant them at strategic locations (ie. at cars or narrows passages). As soon as you detect enemies close to these charges - click-boom. The Juggernaut will provide you with a little cushion in case your oppenent spotted you (in Regular Mode - take your time for the shot - in Hardcore, you'd better hurry). Extreme Condition makes you sprnt twice as long as usual. This is of vital importance, since you need to reach cover quick.
Basically the same like Sniper#1, but a huge improvement because you can use the UAV Jammer which makes you undetectable by enemy UAV's.
Finally, the perfect Sniper set-up. The C4's have been replaced by 2 Claymores. These Anti-Person-Mines will keep away enemies from your hiding spot. They provide good cover when placed in hallways or staircases. You should place these little helpers so that nobody can rush passed them and escape their deadly load. If you reach Lvl 26 you might consider replacing Extreme Condition by Iron Lungs, which doubles your breath-holding-time.
